You keep my dark sky lit up at night~ [Nov. 18th, 2009|06:35 pm]
[Current Mood | excited]

I heard from Dustin night before last and I couldn't be happier~! Just hearing his voice made me giddy as hell. He knows just what to say~ Great karaoke choices, btw. I never want to be rid of you, I hope you realize! <3<3 You've been on my mind as always. Mr. D, Tekken 6 is already out, and I've been practicing for our fateful match and I've already frosted a multitude of butts online, so whenever you're ready to do this...it's on like flan. ;D

Between Modern Warfare 2 and taking my time completing Broken Steel in Fallout 3, I'm stretched thin gaming wise. Jer also picked up Dragon age, though we decided to keep that on the shelf until we're done with one or the other (I never want to be done with Fallout and Modern Warfare is too fun not to play online). I also want to play Uncharted 2 and Borderlands, soooo many games out in the 4th quarter.

I'm super happy lately, I took a couple chances with people from my past, and so far it's bearing sweet, sweet fruit. I'm really excited about rekindling old friendships. Yay~

I'm listening to two cds obsessively as of late: Talib Kweli's Eardrum and The Best of The Ink Spots: 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection, both amazing~

Mwah!

You wanna go to Big Town? OF COURSE you do! [Nov. 13th, 2009|05:37 pm]
[Current Mood | chipper]

FACT: People don't owe you anything, so stop acting like it.

If you treat people as if they should feel lucky to be your friend, don't be surprised when they don't readily jump to hang out with you or help you with whatever misadventure you've gotten yourself into.

I'll never understand people who look to blame everyone else instead of looking within themselves first. If you're boorish and overbearing and don't realize that it turns people off, that's YOUR problem, so adjust it.

Just saying~

I'm really happy right now~!

[Current Mood | amused]

Last night we had plans to meet up with Jamie and the gang for her birthday at a nice Mexican restaurant. It was a pretty big gathering, it was fun! They made very strong margaritas, whoo.

We were invited with the rest of the gang (Brandon, Sarah, Greg, Jack, Phil, Ashley, Jamie, Ryan, Isaac, Lauren, et al.) to go to Las Vegas for the next three days, but decided not to since I don't want to bother sister or mom to take care of all the cats. I also didn't know I'd have the money to easily do so, but oh well~ I'm envious, but they travel often so I know we'll manage another time. I especially would want to visit Vegas during a huge UFC event, that would be keen~

After dinner we headed over to Jamie and Ryan's for the after party which eventually moved over to the Hideout where Phil was spinning music, and surprise, surprise, Isaac was in town!!! We had lots of drinks and good music, it was great times. It really made me want to go with them all, reminiscing of our trip to Disneyland and Medieval Times years past with Isaac and Nicolle. Despite quite a busy night of drinking, I only blew 0.07 (I thought I should win a prize) and drove everyone home to sleep a tiny bit before they caught their plane this morning.

Brandon and Isaac are keeping me up to date with photos, it looks so fun~! I'm glad they're having a great time. <3<3

Split Dogs, lol [Sep. 12th, 2009|07:33 pm]
[Current Mood |accomplished]

Went around town doing errands with mom today. It's always a delight~ we got our nails done, went shopping at a couple different stores picking up stuff for my mom's delicious egg rolls tonight.

Jer and I hit up Borders night before last. I picked up Nana vol. 18 and a newer Palahniuck book that seems similar to Choke. It's called...Snuff! He has another out called Pygmy that sounds really interesting. Jer picked up Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? I'm eager to read it next.

Tomorrow we're supposed to be hooking up with Jeff, Nicolle, Pat, RC and others for karaoke!

Winfield and his wife and daughter just moved in really close to us too. Yay, friends~

I'm almost done with Muramasa already! It's really fun, but I wish there was more to it, and I wish it was on a real next gen console, but at least I still have a reason to play the Wii. I guess.

I saw Afro Samurai: Resurrection last night. I forgot that anime can still be good, I really love how the show is animated. The localization is terrible, and Samuel L. Jackson's Ninja Ninja is too forced that it's enough to make me feel embarrassed, but it's forgivable seeing as how it's one of the very, very few animu in the last ten years that didn't suck complete dick. I <3 teddy bear samurai.

I recently saw Return of the Living Dead...and I really liked it. I like corny, 80's zombie movies apparently. A LOT. I was fixated, also, puppet zombies = a lot scarier than actors with paint on them.

New season of TUF starts next week! Heavy weights! Kimbo Slice! Rashad 'Sugar' Evans! I'm pissed at Rampage for ditching his fight with Rashad (u scared?) so he can play motherfucking B.A. Baracus in the A Team remake (yeah, 'cause that really needed to be made, Hollywood is severely running out of ideas), I'm sure it'll be just awful. You're a FIGHTER, so FIGHT.

I can't wait till Jer is home! Mwaaah.

No one lives forever. [Sep. 3rd, 2009|06:09 pm]
[Current Mood | contemplative]

Ahhh, damn.

Neighbors cat who likes to visit caught another bird in the backyard (I just raked up the feathers from the last one earlier today). I was passing by the sliding glass door and noticed Mojo plucking feathers so I ran outside to shoo him away since I could see the bird still blinking.

I wrapped him up in a shamWOW (lol) towel and walked back and forth outside not knowing really what to do. Mojo was scurrying around my feet me-rowing like crazy while I held the dove. I didn't see any deep wounds, but I was also too squeamish to look. The bird suddenly moved it's wings as if it was trying to leave the towel gently wrapped around him in my hands, so I moved over by the fence to see if he could fly away and then...nothing.

I didn't want to leave his carcass for Mojo to gnaw on, so I brought it inside (shielding it from the eyes of my SEVEN cats) and placed him towel and all in a bag and walked him out to the dumpster. I felt terrible that I was too late.

I finished reading Chuck Palahniuck's Stranger than Fiction. I absolutely loved it. It was ten times better than any of his novels, in my opinion. The book really struck a chord in me, got all kinds of creative juices flowing, and just got my brain thinking like crazy. I love the way he writes, he got me interested in a couple new authors as well. Can't wait to hit up borders this week~

I got a new phone, swanky eNV3, same number. It has a monster battery life which is why I chose it over the eNV Touch.

I've been hearing since yesterday about a 61-year-old man slapping a strangers toddler at walmart in the face 4-5 times after walking up to the mother and telling her "if you don't shut that kid up I'll shut her up for you". Crazy, unbelievable shit. I hate crying kids as much as the next person, but good grief. I got yelled at by an older man working valet at the mall about a week back for waiting too closely to his valet stand while Jeremy quickly ran in and out to bring his check out to me. Note that I drop him off there every day, never had an issue. It wouldn't be an issue at all, but this old man (in short shorts...mind you) was really just rude, and it's surprising because I'm a rather polite gal in public (because first of all, I understand the working man's plight, and second, a kind customer/person can really affect your whole day, or rude one for that matter. I treat others how I'd like to be treated, and third, WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY SO LET'S TRY TO MAKE IT PLEASANT). He came up and told me I couldn't park there, which I replied, nicely, "oh, I'm not parked, just waiting--" he cut's me off, raising his voice at me "yes, YOU ARE parked" (notice my car NOT in park). He went on 'explaining' to me (who knows fully well how the mall parking lot I've been going to since I was SIX works) how his valet is from here to here, blah, blah, blah. I would have moved, no problem, if he had been cool about it.

I just smile, wait for him to finish, and I respond by saying "okay". Conversation over, right? Wrong. He goes to walk away, doesn't get more than three steps BESIDE MY CAR before he does a 360 and comes charging back, he then barks into my window "DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?" I just sit here, blinking, wondering if he wanted me to plow into him while he was walking away. I couldn't move in the 5 seconds he gave me because he was IN THE WAY. I didn't say anything, I didn't do anything, so I didn't know why he came back screaming at me. So, again, (since it seemed to piss him off so much) I smiled and told him I understood but I couldn't move my car until he GOT OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY. I told him he was rude and a jack ass before moving. Jeremy is back at this point and I tell him the story and we kiss and say goodbye. I'm so pissed I don't even look back.

Later that night I come to pick Jer up and he asks if I saw the commotion before I left. I didn't, I thought he'd just run into work, but apparently Jeremy lambasted the dude in front of everyone. He's so sweet~ It was quite the tongue lashing, despite the man trying to be polite to Jeremy (damage control). Jeremy commented on how when the old man saw Jeremy leave my car and head in the direction of the valet his eyes were filled with dread as he knew he had fucked up. It's so hilarious seeing the guy every week though, Jeremy shoots him evil eye lasers and he just hangs his head like a beaten dog.

It's just surprising to me, both of these situations...had a man been present with the crying toddler and his wife, or if Jeremy had been in the car with me, I think the situations would have played out completely different or rather...not at all.
Racism is alive and everywhere, it's a problem I'm aware of, but I'm realizing more and more how disgustingly misogynistic we STILL are in this age as well, and how much more acceptable it is to be so. It's...disheartening.

Anyways~

Comiket C76 has been pretty nice, a little uneventful, but Valkyria Chronicles doujins = win. A kind anon is currently translating a chapter I requested from the latest Comic Tenma magazine. The art isn't amazing but the story looks 'cute', art and story by Kishisato Satoshi. Should be done Saturday.

I thought of two great lolita dress ideas, the first being a pattern of cute sheep jumping a fence around the hem of the skirt, the other, squids! I have two ideas with the squids, one being cute and cartoony, the other being more artistic and realistic, octopi and squids shooting 'ink' but rather the ink would be a beautiful swirly design. I'll doodle it sometime, maybe.

Between drawing, typing and gaming, I'm convinced I have CTS. I've been experiencing gross, bleeeeh, painful nerve type issues in my left wrist to elbow, it's disgusting, and I hate it. Oh well! Obama health care, plz~ (don't even get me started on the shit going on lately with that!!!) Muramasa will be in stores tomorrow, so I'll be picking that up and dusting of the wii. PS3 got it's anticipated price drop, SO GO BUY THE PS3 SLIM for ONLY $299!

Looks like it's gonna rain tonight~ I better get started on dinner. Mwah~

Oh, gosh.

I had a birthday, I am 25. I feel that is...too old! D: For me. It was a good birthday, not the best, but one of the few that didn't suck, so...yay!

I don't have a ton of time, so I'll elaborate on what I got and all that some other time.

We saw The English Beat and RBF for my birthday! English Beat was AMAZING. It was their thirty year anniversary. I feel fortunate to have seen them in concert in my lifetime. Because of them there were all kinds of older people drunk and skanking, it was awesome. RBF was kind of lame, but this was my third time seeing them. Aaron Barret looked amazing. :x Real lean and awesome chops were awesome.

UFC tonight~ (BJ to kill Kenny, PLEASE) I'm not a fan of BJ Penn, but I loathe Kenny Florian, and he will be destroyed by the Prodigy or I'll...eat my words.

Party tonight at the Doll House including Dubstep Murder playing~ Woo, woo.

Look, doodles! )

I've been playing Fat Princess lately, oh so fun~

I was hoping to hear from Dustin on my birthday. :( I miss him. I hope he's doing well. Well, see you later, alligators. <3

It's night of the living dead out there! [Jul. 17th, 2009|04:00 pm]
[Current Mood | sleepy]

Five, no, six days later...I'm a zombie.

I'm so exhausted, that aside, Jeremy's birthday was a huge success. Everyone came out to celebrate with us at the 'horn for drinks and good times. Those who could manage made it over to the dollhouse afterward for music and more drinks. I've never seen Jeremy so tipsy~ so cute.

UFC 100 was great but slightly disappointing. Lesnar won over Mir (freaking beast), and 45 year old Coleman beat Stephan Bonnar, not that I knew at the time since they didn't even show the FIGHT!!! UFC pay-er-view events seem like they usually last 3 hours, with several under card and main card fights. This time around it seemed to go on barely two hours and I could of sworn they only showed 4-5 fights top. Jeremy was worried for GSP, saying that Thiago Alves was one of the strongest opponent he's faced off against, I wasn't worried, and nor should I have been seeing as how Alves was manhandled for five rounds by my gorgeous and ever so humble Georges St. Pierre~ Akiyama (Sexiyama~) made his debut in the octagon against Belcher and won the decision, though a lot of people think otherwise. These people don't know how to score a fight, clearly. I'm looking forward to following his UFC career (after he gets his orbital bone fixed D:). He came to America after some veeery interesting rumors about yakuza connections (not at all uncommon in Pride and other MMA outlets in Japan). Dana White says the yakuza are going to have to kill him to keep him and UFC out of Japan. I'm kind of nervous, lol. The biggest upset of the night (for my poor anxiety riddled Jeremy most especially) was our beloved Bisping getting KO's in the beginning of the second round by Hendo...and it was BAD. OH MAN~

After that party (which was pretty fun, met some new people), same night, we headed over to Jamie and Ryan's for 'Isaac's in town bbq'! I love me some Isaac. He's leaving tonight, hopefully not before the party, but I doubt it. We had some great talks and he made Lauren make Jeremy yummy cupcakes that she brought to the bar for his birthday, complete with penis candles that Isaac picked out. Love that kid.

We had lunch with Jeremy's parents, grammie and Ryan and Jamie. We were actually early for once and the food was really good! I love seeing grammie. :3 Jeremy's parents got him some...Korean black lacquered and pearl table that sits low to the floor but can also be hung up on the wall as a picture, I guess. Eeeeh...sad thing is, this is one of the better gifts she's gotten him. Parents just don't understand, amirite?

In gaming news: Rancid will debut In Rock Band this week!!! Finally a reason to start playing again. I can't wait for Kenka Banchou 3!!! Finally got my platinum trophy from Infamous and THANK god, as it was very lame. Story and characters were just terrible, game play was kind of fun until you realize all the missions are basically the same, and I'm talking less variety than GTA. I'll put it up against Prototype next (same game basically). I'm also two trophies away from 100% completion in Eden and Encore. Woot, woot~

Ashley's birthday party tonight at the dollhouse (theme: robots~!). I don't know how I'll make it, but I will.

I'll post doodles when I get back from getting my nails filled. Lot's of catching up to do. Mwah~

Oh, wow. Last night was fun, too fun. I'm so sore today.

I felt so bad for staying so late but I had one of those 5 hour shots and the alcohol didn't really hit me until later when we did shots with the other party people showing up pretty late into the night. I'm so glad they decided to come on over. I cleaned up the kitchen for Jamie after she went to bed so that it wouldn't as big as a disaster to clean in the morning.

Delicious vodka soaked watermelon, yuuum.

This was by far the best themed party out of the bunch, but maybe I'm biased because I love me some rockabilly boys. Jamie looked baller too, yargh, I forgot to take pictures. I talked about lolita a bit with her, I think she would look so cute as a lolita. She has great fashion sense as is.

We're trying to talk about what to do for my birthday. Ho hum~ I'm actually excited about it.

Greg was hilarious last night, with his 5 pack of white tee shirts (by the way, I learned that the correct term for a wife beater is an 'a' shirt. the more you know~). He got his nips pierced and a giant pirate ship tattooed on his side. Very neat~

singular doodle under here~ )

Rented some movies and Infamous to play and get some trophies. Gonna take it easy since I have another party Monday. Fuuun~

[Current Mood | chipper]

haha, oh wow~ Jeff and Pat just came over completely unannounced while I was in my house cleaning mode, looovely. Scared the crap out of my sister by knocking on the window, I didn't even hear them.

Pat just spent the last hour or so explaining his master plan for a revolution in...stuff! It's complex, well, not that complex, but too much for me to completely grasp. He's going to help start a social networking type thing that expands into a lot of other stuff. Very interesting. He's quite the entrepreneur~ and I believe in him!

We had some good talks, great talks even, though they mostly came over to bully us (mainly me since Jeremy was at work) into going to RC's party tonight that I just found out about. But tonight we agreed to come to Jack Petty's birthday party. I'm going to TRY and make both, but hopefully both parties will mesh together so we can all party together. Then there's Ryan's party at Hotel Congress which possibly Pat will give us a ride to...? Eeeh? I hate driving down town. xO

Pat called Isaac and informed us that he was coming down possibly next week, so hopefully in time for Jer's birthday!

I forgot we have to get together with Jeremy's parents and Jamie and Ryan for lunch. Oy vey, July is too hot to be so busy.

Jack's tonight is a greaser theme party, yuuum~ Picking Jer up some pomade after work. :D Doodles are relevant (elephant trunk pompadours for the win~)

The boys, the boys~ )

Argh, there's not enough time in the day! Great day so far though~ <3 Have a happy and safe 4th of July~!

Gore-tex. [Jun. 30th, 2009|11:40 pm]
[Current Mood | cheerful]

Good, great times last Saturday, though not without the usual slight drama, police threats and other humorous antics. Winfield and Marilyn have moved back to Tucson! I'm going to be busy for while with so many events coming up (Jack's birthday is tomorrow, Ryan's on the 6th @ Hotel Congress, UFC 100 on the 11th, and Jeremy's birthday on the 14, etc.), but after spending the early hours of this morning trying to figure out why my scanner wasn't working and finally getting it to (HP is really getting on my nerves lately!), I thought I'd share what I was doodling.

Hey, I still remember how to do this~ )

Random Slayers doodle from a few days back. I was going to touch it up with the tablet (which, hilariously, what was making my scanner not work until I found a patch), but I thought I'd stop while I was ahead and actually making some progress with my procrastination. Maybe I'll try for a doodle a day, since I have sketches dating back to 2007 that still need cleaned and scanned.

For projects right now, besides the usual comic work, Jeremy is working on several different logos for Dubstep Murder. We both brainstormed and had similar ideas (Pulp Magazine style, skulls, smoking, screaming damsel in distress, you get the picture. Annoyingly, it's a really common theme right now on local and not so local band flyers), I adore his designs so far~! Hopefully I'll be able to show 'em off here soon enough.

The monsoons have started and I couldn't be happier, except for my old windshield wipers...

Public enemies is out tomorrow!
